Yeah, those £10 seats would have been rough. Usually they are more expensive than that, London clubs especially. A season ticket for Arsenal a couple of years ago was about £2000, which excluding cup and European matches works out at £52 a match, probably around £40 including other matches.
Our ticket prices are pretty good considering we are a decent club. Season ticket prices this year are frozen from last year when we were in the Championship, and they dropped ticket prices for kids again. Apparently there are 38,000 season ticket holders this season. Every home game is packed.
Edit: As a kid, I remember paying £3 to watch my local team. They were third division then I think, but still a ridiculous price.

Just checked for a random game over here. Cheapest seats for the local team is about $32. So 30 quid sounds about right in comparison.
I just didn't realize soccer was so much cheaper in comparison. ~20 bucks for a major sporting event sounds cheap as hell to me. Of course, those would be nosebleed seats here, too.
And all the talk of Newcastle and which division they're in actually makes sense to me, since I played a little of Football Manager 2017 and understand the relationship between the premierships and the other divisions, and how a team goes up or down between them.
