You know I too thought the last decade really lacked in good music. That was until my end of the year summary on pandora came up and it listed the 2010's as my favorite decade. It was then that I started noticing how many solid new artist have come out and how many good albums older artists have produced.
I'll try and edit some suggestions into this comment when I have the time.
