Even stuffy Spanish academics liked the movie, despite the fact that Alfonso's depicted as a loser. Wasn't aware of the fact that it wasn't on Blu-Ray - I've only ever seen it on VHS anyway.

The 60s were great years for cinema. Every single one of those years have multiple classic films that easily deserve best picture.
