Despite your help, I got it up and running. Roughly 2.5x increase to hashrate, and it cut the cpu usage in half.

I know what that's like. Until a couple months ago I had not had Windows on a home machine in more than a decade. Finally figured I should refresh the experience(horror) before I was completely out of touch.
