Will this signal aircraft carriers and other capital ships being obsolete?

I would not be surprised if at some point we see a submersible boat which can launch drones.

I'm not sure if you're aware these and, even if you are, I'll toss a couple of links in here for some additional information:

Sort of related is this, which only the Russians took to the level of "Holy-balls-awesomeness."

Yep, I'm sure they could really do something with today's tech.

The debate of aircraft carriers has long been a debate. It's the same argument as WW1 that these massively expensive behemoths that represent national pride and power, Are just simply too valuable to endanger.

There's been a multiple simulations and exercises that have shown a swarm of cheap torpedo boats will eventually overwhelm even the most expensive weapons systems.

Fucking zerg rush dude.

Not much more than previous missiles and platforms. If you destroy the flight deck and the primary offensive (long range) weapons, then you can pick apart the ship at leisure. Or, you can flush out the survivors and use the carrier as a supply ship

Don't be surprised. China was going to catch up to us eventually.

As for the aircraft carrier threat, this is why we have Aegis cruisers in the battle groups.
