There are currently lots of military resources devote to space. Having retired out of aerospace, I know first hand and seriously thought it was a great idea. It is the future, like it or not and just as the Air Force grew out of the Army, I do think it has it's place.

I have seen a lot of negative comments about it but I dont believe they are thinking it through. I also believe it can be fit into the budget easily since our great president is stopping (or at least slowing) the bleeding of cash from uneccessary crap that does nothing for us.

Agree, and if you think about it, the vast majority of the force funding is already in the budget. Other than the logistics of a new branch of service's administration, most everything to be included is already in functional units within the current military branches and federal bureaucracies ... they'd just be moving under a different tent.

The administration overhead is why many officials don't want another branch.
