I get what you're saying. Unless I misunderstand, I think we agree on this. The point I was trying to drive home is that the flaw in this guy's logic isn't in the numbers, its in the language. I believe that was the very point Twain was addressing when he made that quote famous.

There is a way to slice it to support almost any position, so those going down this train of thought are clearly going to filter the information selectively to fit the preferred narrative. I'm personally tired of all of it and people using body counts as excuses for their crusades.
