Well, to be clear, an account in his name posted this a few hours ago:

"Sounds like things need some attention. I'll make a post after I fix a few things."

My post title was a link to that. And yes, there are a ton of questions he needs to answer, if indeed it is Putt.

I'm just wondering, right now, what needs fixing more than the elephant in the room. Making it known he was able to post but saying "later, dude" doesn't seem to show much awareness or value for our concerns. At the same time, why am I so concerned about anonymous people/sites on the internet?

If you read back on Putts comments 2 months ago, he seemed really burnt out and over Voat. I think he was trying to design a system where he could be completely hands off. I agree with about that elephant. Secondly, what about the warrant canary? Was Voat taken over/down. Is Putt still Putt. How much longer will Voat last.. I could go on. The list of questions people would like answered is long.

At the same time, why am I so concerned about anonymous people/sites on the internet?

If you invest time in it, then it has some value. That value differs from person to person. Also, there is a risk if Voat is comprised to users on a personal level. Not to mention the wider political ramifications of Voat being taken over.

Why wouldn't it be him? It's his account, easily verified.

Some people are floating the theory that voat was taken over. Together with the concerns about the warrant canary, some are concluding that Putt may have been replaced.

I'm not saying any of that is true. I'm just keeping an open mind to all possibilities, until I have something concrete to go on.
