Nope your stuff persists even after you go offline. However your things can be attacked while you are offline, so it's best to check in daily.

Interesting. How does it work in terms of leaving the game though? If you stop playing do you just lose all your stuff?
I'm not really an MMO guy but I don't mind RTS from time to time.
