More thunderous applause from 2 others, so naturally, I'll keep posting. Today's topic is one of my favorite mangas/animes, Midori Days. High School rough-and-tumble type Seiji Sawamura is known around town for his "Demon Right Hand". Despite his rough reputation, all he desires out of life is a normal time, meeting a nice girl, and having a happy, youthful school experience. But all the boys are afraid of him, and so all the girls are too, so none of them will go out with him. One day, while stressing over his situation, finds that a girl has shown up - as his right hand! Midori Kasugano has always had feelings for Seiji, but could never express them; it seems to be love at last, but having a right-hand girlfriend was not what Seiji had in mind. Thrust into a difficult situation with no options for getting out of it, the two of them now cope with their circumstance.

The manga itself is a romantic-comedy, a genre I stay away from with regards to modern western movies, but don't mind at all in manga. I'm actually more familiar with the anime than the manga at this point, because I own the former and not the latter, but many of the important plot points are the same - the manga just goes deeper into a few characters and introduces some that don't make it into the anime. While Midori is overjoyed at the opportunity to spend all this time with someone she's been wanting to be with for a long time, Seiji tries to deal with the reality of the situation that he no longer has a right hand - or much privacy to speak of - and trying to keep it constantly hidden from thugs who come to fight him, his friends, classmates, and others who inject themselves into his life.
With quite a few interesting characters and good humor, Midori Days has become one of my comfort shows to watch when I want a nice pick-me-up. Anyone who likes romantic or funny series can give this one a quick peek to see if they like it.
