The windchill is -5° (using the wind charts and the lying wind data as it's much windier up here, it's probably actually lower by a good 10°) and it is snowing. Alas, it's not snowing hard enough to really call it a good storm - yet. But, it has signs of becoming one.

It's not really a good blizzard until the house starts rumbling and visibility is measured in feet.

Winter is here, even if the calendar disagrees.

I think we agree 100% on the drug legalization.

You are responsible for your actions whether or not you are under the influence of drugs. For example: if you get drunk and drive a sports car through some trees and stuff, that's totally a crime. Now the drunk guy with a broken leg sitting in the passengers seat, aside from being stupid, didn't commit a real crime. The war on drugs is a total failure. Its time we legalize all drugs.

Gotta admit, that was not my brightest moment.

In my defense, it was a pretty damned good day - up until the vehicle left the ground for the first time. Even the howling understeer as we crossed the lane and exceeded the coefficient of drag was pretty sweet. It was awesome right up until we went over the ditch and the embankment on the other side tossed us into the air!

I'd like to say lesson learned. I hope so, at any rate. I'm getting to old for this shit.

He's expecting 30 days in jail. It'd be less, but there was property damage and personal injury. He won't be disbarred. He'll probably do his 30 days one weekend at a time. He'll probably get a provisional license, need to take a drunk class and a DEEP course, have very high insurance (filing an SR-22), and be on probation - with like 5 more months of jail time hanging over him for a year.

He still comes to visit me almost every day to tell me he's sorry. I kinda wish he'd stop saying sorry. I'm not mad at him or anything. Hell, I'm partially culpable.

LOL But it's true. That was REALLY, REALLY dumb of me. I even knew it was dumb. Hell, I was telling him how bad a driver he was and how his car sucked at cornering - all while telling him he didn't have the berries to go faster. "Open it up. Let's see if you can bounce of the rev limiter!"

Meh... I'm a guitar player. That right there is indicative of a life of bad choices!
