I have no idea and they're on the other side of the village, so I don't actually know them by name. They're not evenly spaced but it looks intentionally planted and not resting. Though, I suppose they could have planted something to lock something like nitrogen into the soil? It was corn last year.

I'm not 100% sure, need a better pic. Is this recent? If it was in the spring it could be young soybeans.
