Haha. I'm used to MMA talk, so I don't think of it like that at all.

When I saw this live, I didn't even realize what had happened at first. I had to see the replay before I saw the tap, even. I saw the ref stop them and then the guy who tapped sit up on Oleinik, and the ref was talking to him like someone who had just been submitted, like "Are you OK? Can you see me? Can you hear me? Can you move off to the side here for me? (pointing)", and I thought something weird had happened where he had to stop the fight for safety reasons or something, but I didn't imagine the guy on top was actually submitted.

I was incredibly impressed when I saw this, choking someone out from fucking bottom is insane. You have to be so strong to pull that off.

It's impressive, for sure.

You ever wrestle?

Nothing that can be taken too seriously. I have wrestled with a friend who knows Judo some; I'm a fair bit bigger and heavier than he is, so I had a slight advantage from a physical standpoint, while he had the technical skill. I wouldn't mind learning some wrestling though, it's fun to do. I have done a little Aikido, which is also a grappling art (no real strikes, mostly throws).

Cool. I think wrestling is useful, especially if the event of close contact is something that could ever happen. And it is for me and a lot of people.

I just never got into it because I knew I'd get a boner.
