So many open and closed source communities and companies have fallen into this trap and I have seen many competent people fired and many sub-par people hired even after being rejected by the entire interview panel. The major tech industries and major open source projects will all crumble in the name of "not hurting feelings" and being PC. Not being able to actually convey how bad some ideas are or how much someone fucked up will lead to massive security breaches.
