This my first attempt at using freeze distillation and it turned out pretty good. I back sweetened it with some brown sugar and the ABV is around 30%.

Here's my recipe:

  • 2 gallons of apple juice

  • 4 cups of white sugar

  • 1oz raisins

  • Distillers Yeast

I mixed all that shit together and let it ferment until all the sugars were gone. This batch took about 3 weeks. After it was done fermenting, I transferred it to a different jug and left that nasty shit on the bottom in the old jug. Then it spent about 6 hours in the freezer. Once it was frozen solid, i poured the brew into a strainer and discarded the ice, while keeping the liquid alcoholy bits. I repeated the process 2 more times. At this point, I boiled 3/4 a cup of brown sugar with 1/2 a cup of water until it was slightly thick syrup and then I added it to the Apple Jack.
