According to rules or code technicalities? I think in this case it would be reasonable to transfer the one knife post in /s/Knife to /s/Knives and then kill it. I doubt @DeWhoDeWho would mind.

Well... both. It's not as simple as deleting a database entry because of all the database relations and I also don't want to leave crawled pages 404ing (moving the posts isn't an option either because it would break permalinks)
