It was just an interesting study I saw on phys.org and figured I'd share ... but only because it reinforces my own perception that liberals are pessimists, and conservative more optimistic as a generalization. As with all studies though, someone will draw an opposite conclusion in another study. They're interesting to read, but results always vary so much it's hard to draw any real conclusions on such things.

I would be curious to see if the results changed if controlled for religion. I think religion plays a large role in this.
I would guess that the results would be similar. I think conservatives tend to focus more on the past, their world view is shaped by what has been done.
Liberals tend to focus on the future, their world view is shaped by what still needs to be done.
That's little more than a guess though.
