In Drakon there was only one punishment for most crimes; death. From apple thieves to murderers all were equal in the eyes of Drakon's laws.
It is said that Drakon himself, when asked why he had fixed the punishment of death for most offences, answered that he considered these lesser crimes to deserve it, and he had no great punishment for more important ones.
