I had seen some of this stuff, but usually from Nazi apologists, I didn't rrealize there was so much information out there by scholarly resources.
I can't remember who said it, but it was something along the lines of "You can't have a war unless both sides think they are the good guy." And to be the "good guy", you can't have negative press about your actions (see Vietnam War.)
