Right, there's nothing wrong with improving yourself but it's getting to the point where people are becoming obsessed with getting better to the point where they are never content. And what bigger goal in life is there than being content? There's also the fact that the type who obsess over self-improvement usually seek external validation and that is never healthy.

While some advice is bad, that doesn't mean all advice is. I suppose their could be information overload of advice, but it's not like rich elites will stop if regular people do.
