Plastics have their place, not in drinkign bottles though. Glass worked fine for decades. The cheap ass companies don't want to clean and refill the used glass bottles, as it takes longer than just filling plastic and increases shipping costs.

Plastics were really just a big mistake. We should go back to using glass, iron and clay for things we eat/drink/cook with.
