The fact that polo has been eradicated shows they are not worthless.
One of the concerns is this allows the disease a chance to mutate rendering the vaccine useless. That is why saying it's a freedom of choice issue is shortsighted. There is also a question of if allowing your child to be at risk for a life debilitating disease is child abuse.
