TL;DR: I promise I'm not a jerk.

I'm writing this as a kind of introductory post to the concept of human biodiversity (HBD). HBD is very simply the diversity found among and between human populations that has a biological basis. I'm aware that HBD has been used by some as a justification for racial hatred, but that's not the only conclusion one can draw from such information. Though I came from Voat and have not been active here, I would like to show that I'm not obsessed with denigrating certain races. I just find differences in various human groups to be neat. I just like posting about HBD in various places because it's hard to talk about in real life.

because it's hard to talk about in real life

Ain't that the truth. People can discuss all day how different animals evolved differently due to the environment around them, adapting to regional weather, habitat, food sources, etc., but the second you mention the same for humans then you are deemed a monster. I mean, a civilization that grew in the sub-arctic region with scarce food supplies half of the year would likely adapt significant biological differences than groups of people living in tropical climates with abundant food supplies year round. That is hate speech

It makes people be so odd. You can pick up average differences based on experience with different people, but you're not allowed too wonder if that could have any bearing on anything that matters.

Sadly the true definition of racism has been blurred by those wishing to play the victim or take advantage of a situation.

Differences that people aren't supposed to talk about or notice in order to be politically correct:

  • men vs women
  • straight vs gay
  • different cultures
  • different countries
  • different religions
  • different languages
  • intelligence between individuals
  • etc

I'm sure I missed a few in there. If one believes there are no difference you're allowed to talk about, then where do any of the observable differences come from? If we outcast anyone as a Nazi who brings up even the most benign observation on these points, why wouldn't they notice the lack of logic in PC ideology and jump into the open arms of extremists? Suppressing facts (even inconvenient with a particular ideology) and name calling are not a recipe for a healthy, more tolerant culture.

Certain differences are ok to discuss, some get warnings and some get considered straight up hate speech, which is all extremely stupid. Take these comparisons for example:

  • On average, men are taller than women. (Safe!)
  • On average, men are stronger than women (this is approaching dangerous territory)
  • On average, men are smarter than women (HATE SPEECH!!!)

All of those observations are true, but the PC police won't allow the last one in particular

I shit you not, I've seen a post saying women are shorter because they get less care and poorly fed when growing up compared to men. Of course we're on the internet where every wacko's thoughts can be transmitted to billions and the outrange of someone somewhere somehow means we have to stop whatever we're doing no matter what. This world is phuked, and who knows what is or won't be safe to discuss in 50 years. I'd personally guess that we're reaching "peak PC" and normal citizens are tired of the nonsense and constantly being on guard, but who knows what will happen.

One more thing of note when I had a sociology class was the treatment of differences between men and women in the textbook and class discussion.

When discussing how men score higher with nonverbal, spatial, and math reasoning on tests than women, there followed several paragraph's about bias in society and how women are discouraged from these areas, treated differently, etc. More disclaimers about how in one study women were given some practice before the test and then most of the gap disappeared, etc. Basically tons of discussion and implication that these differences most certainly are not biological.

Then it mentions how women score higher than men on verbal IQ, but no more discussion of this result. I'm noticing a pattern here, and it strangely isn't that extremists from the left truly want equal treatment.

Most people are tired of the shit extremists, fallacious logic, and third rail topics from both sides of the spectrum, but there are few true "safe spaces" left where discussing any of this isn't a true shit show or doesn't result in you being fired or labeled a Nazi.
