Assuming current market, or whatever - just keep it sane.

How much do you think Willie Nelson's guitar Trigger is worth at an auction - assume, of course, that Willie is dead. (He got run over, 'cause he was playing On The Road Again.)

But, with a slight twist...

I'd like to hear your reasons for the dollar valuation that you give. Regardless of the total dollar value, could you tell me why you put that specific value on it?

If you need to ask any questions about Trigger, before assigning the value, I'll do my best to answer them - but there's a ton of resource material and Trigger is pretty damned famous.

If you've never seen the following, it's maybe worth looking at:

Do note: I may use some of your answers in an article, unless you object.

EDIT:

It's your box of crayons, you can color any picture you want. In other words, I am not sure there's really a 'wrong' answer (unless one deliberately tried to make one, by saying something like 'I like pistachio ice cream.' Which, while nice, doesn't really answer the question!)

Very true. Changing the subject really quick. I'm not big on shows like this but have you heard this 13 y/o reincarnation of Janis Joplin performance? It's eerie

I need a FAQs!

LOL I normally don't click on links, any of them really. I do click on them more frequently on Phuks! Normally, I click on just a few, but I absolutely clicked on this one, 'cause I was asking something of you and it's only fair that I reciprocate.

(I've been using the 'net for a long time, long enough to realize that I don't actually want to click on links that people include in comment replies! That's a horrible idea - more often than not!)

But, I did!

I watched about 15 seconds and I've seen it before. Yup! I've answered this question!

Vocals aren't really my expertise.

I do know good vocals and I have worked with great vocalists. I will never be a good vocalist. I will sing, 'cause that's part of the job. I can replicate some artists fairly well.

So, what can I say, with some degree of confidence?

One or two songs doesn't make a great vocalist.

I'm very impressed.

Her shyness is an act - and an intelligent one, calculated to elicit a response and to emotionally prep the audience, to give them more sympathy and thus rate the performance all the more surprising.

It's an age-old trick, and has been done since the dawning of performances (I suspect).

If I'm about to show someone a card illusion, I'll fumble-fuck the cards to make it seem like I'm inept. That's what her shyness is.

Which is not a bad thing.

Much of performing is playing the audience.

Playing the audience is sometimes more important than the skill with which you play your instrument.

I'm a bit impressed. I'd like to hear more samples (maybe, it's not really my domain and I'm not hiring her) and I'd not be surprised to find that she has a future in performing as a vocalist. I'd like to hear her without amplification and any effects.

Anyone can sound good in a few limited situations. Skill is sounding good in less than optimal situations.

Which is my non-vocalist view of her work. I like it. She may have potential.
