I am reconsidering putting sunflowers in my garden now, especially after reading other articles about how their roots will give off toxicity that can kill most vegetable plants within 12" or so of the plant. Cucumbers are one of the few vegetables immune to the toxicity.
I think I need to find a different patch to put the sunflowers now.
