We grow lettuce in the fall down here, summer is too hot. We're going to try a heat tolerant variety of spinach this year to see if it will survive.

That's why I started it in mid March in my basement. Should be ready in 6-7 weeks before the heat hits. I can't grow lettuce greens in the summer either and i'm close to the great lakes.

There are growers in south Georgia that are using lettuce as their winter crops.

I lied, right half of front is lettuce, left is arugula. Just pining to transplant them
