I gave up gaming, pretty much entirely, after Fallout Tactics.

I love gaming too but I fell out of it after Final Fantasy 8. It was too much crammed into too little with graphics they shouldn't have been trying to do on that generation console.

Then I figured out that I had a lot of extra time to do other things and, gasp, actually enjoyed that.

So, now, gaming is kind of... just a thing to do once in a while.

Fallout Tactics was complete trash and buggy as hell. I paid for it on the first day, 'cause I thought the series was pretty awesome.

I said to hell with it, after that.

I had gotten to a place in life where piracy didn’t need to happen because I could afford anything (almost) that I wanted.

Bought Skyrim on Steam and then the whole “paid mods” thing happened. Since Steam can force an update regardless of settings and a simple change could render all mods broken that I’d have to pay a couple hundred dollars for (worst case) just to keep my save game and continue playing, I considered the validity of piracy to protect my time, money, etc.

Then the whole No Man’s Sky crime happened (and make no mistake, that was criminal) and I said “screw it, I’m never paying for games again.” I have more respect for myself than that.

So I don’t get excited for games anymore unless they’re old.
