I had gotten to a place in life where piracy didn’t need to happen because I could afford anything (almost) that I wanted.

Bought Skyrim on Steam and then the whole “paid mods” thing happened. Since Steam can force an update regardless of settings and a simple change could render all mods broken that I’d have to pay a couple hundred dollars for (worst case) just to keep my save game and continue playing, I considered the validity of piracy to protect my time, money, etc.

Then the whole No Man’s Sky crime happened (and make no mistake, that was criminal) and I said “screw it, I’m never paying for games again.” I have more respect for myself than that.

So I don’t get excited for games anymore unless they’re old.

That's a pretty valid philosophy, I think. There's quite a few like-minded people on places like Slashdot, if you ever get bored.

Yeah, no. Not looking to spend more time on the internet than I already do O.o Already spend too much as it is.
