This is probably one of the least dystopian things coming out of China and one of the actual instances where "think of the children" arguments are kind of true but at the same time ignored because there is tons of money to be made.

I get it, it's tricky because limiting freedom needs to be done with extreme caution. At the same time, getting kids addicted to digital gambling causes real harm. I wouldn't go as far to say I support this policy and its draconian nature, but it is at least less harmful than lots of the other ad tech/surveilance state/social credit systems/censorship/travel restrictions in China and being embraced by the west.
