Ask a thought-provoking question to start a discussion, or make a challenging statement to start a debate.
There are only three rules:
1) Only start a discussion if you are open-minded on the topic you choose.
2) Only submit text posts. Links in the body of a post are fine.
3) No purposefully divisive or leading questions. If you want a debate, make your title a statement.
One thing I noticed with the political refugees was their one minded view and use of Voat. A lot of people seemed to use it just for political content and went back to reddit for everything else. This kind of one sided content has lead the place into being a massive echo chamber with no real chance for growth. Those of us that did try to grow the community and contribute more than just the same bullshit were accused of voat farming and shilling.
So yeah, I agree 100%.
