Given that there's an online and phone resource the check employment eligibility, it's neglect to follow the law at best.

The law does not require that in Ohio. All the employer has to do is fill out the I-9 with the documents the hire presents and sign that they look genuine.

Then it's neglect. While they're not required to follow that in Ohio, they still have access to it, yes? I mean, maybe they can't be railed legally but that's only a technicality.
