Gene therapy injections apparently don't stop the spread of a virus. Who woulda known?

I mean, we all knew. The kicker is that I have to go visit my elderly mother on a regular basis. Let's say I get vaccinated, I would still have to pre-quarantine because she can't get the vaccine and has pretty much all the conditions that would cause COVID to kill her. It literally makes no sense for me to get the vaccine because I'm still being COVID-paranoid for the sake of my mother (and sister and niece, none of whom can get the vaccine either).

But if you're vaccinated, it shouldn't matter, right? Right??
