Rewatching ET as an adult I was a bit surprised to see some adult themes. Dad had run off with his younger girlfriend to Mexico if I remember correctly. That isn't something you'd expect to hear in a kid friendly movie. I think there was some other stuff, but I can't really recall right now.
But hey at least ET wanted to go home!
