Eric Burdon once sang, in "Monterrey":
You want to find the truth in life?
Don't pass music by
and I'm a firm believer in that. I can't comprehend a person who doesn't have memories and emotions that go untouched by some kind of music. Even animals have demonstrated the effects of it. Although the current, and actually for me the last 30 years, of music have been unremarkable. The rise of corporate influence has reached a level where the music is just a profit-driven product, eliminating the soul of the art. There are a few examples that appear (in spite of that) that have warranted my attention.
My main passion is the cultural and genre defining period of the late 50's through the early 70's. So much so I, and a friend, have a site to preserve and document the artists and songs of that period. We're determined to not let that period fade into obscurity, at least put the information out there if one wants to avail themselves of it.
I enjoyed seeing your posts and will be looking forward to them.
I am interested in pretty much all music :)
