Hi. I've heard of bitcoin, and have recently become intrigued by the whole blockchain phenomena. I'm curious, as to what in the heck bitcoin/crypto-currencies are. Also, how would one get involved with bitcoin? Do you need a credit card to buy bitcoin?

The simplest way to get into crypto in a safe normie way is coinbase. They offer Etherium (The second most popular or common cryto currency) that is much cheaper than bitcoin as an alternative. You have to set up an account and it takes a few days but yes you can eventually buy with debit card if your bank allows.

I mined my own bitcoin about 5 years ago it took me a year to get close to one coin I spent it on drugs on the dark web when it was around $400 or so. Don't try to mine your own its too late, basically it costs more for electricity than you will get in value from mining.

I am holding some XRP Ripple it super cheap but a little harder to acquire.

I used to think block-chain was going to change the world but i don't know now.

Another way to get into how crypto technology works, is cyrpto-kitties it an Ethrium based virtual kitty collection site check it out if you like cats and want to get an idea about how cyrpo transactions work.
