So I was just looking at a couple of different wallets. I searched for "Samourai Wallet" on Google. It is an Android wallet still being developed that has a few nice privacy features. When I made the search, I got a popup asking me to share my location with Google, which is really fucking odd because I have never been asked for my location on a normal search page.

It turns out that this is only happening when the search is made from an IP in the US - I was connected to a US VPN at the time. It works fine connecting from France, the UK and NZ, but will ask you for your location if you're inside the US. @pembo tried it and got the same result as me.

Make sure you aren't sharing your location if you're getting a new wallet. Don't use Google search when you're getting your wallet, especially if you are signed in.

There is a difference between tracking and straight up asking for someone's location with specific search terms when there is nothing on the page that warrants needing your location.
