Getting exciting out in the West.

Last week it looked like there was a chance the NYY could get knocked out of the playoffs, but the schedule has the West eating each other up (which it should). Still time left for for a surprise. The second wild card is great for competition.

The NL is wide open.

It was nuts that NYY were swept by the Red Sox. It is even crazier that NY is 31 games over .500 and has to fight for a wildcard spot! The Red Sox have been unstoppable.

I really don't see how the play at home was overturned.

There was no view that showed his hand touch the plate before the tag. You had to assume it.

On one angle, you could see him slide in, and the tag hits him possibly on the tricep, but definitely on the rib cage.

The other angle shows the hand having to go around or push the catcher's foot.away. Even side by side, you couldn't make a determination either way. The call should have stood.

I agree. For a call to be overturned it has to be clearer than this. You can't say definitively one way or the other based on the replay. Let the call on the field stand.

That has to really annoy the umps when calls like this are overturned.
