Bans on climbing "holy" mountains make no sense to me. Why do we let the force of law support religious nonsense?

It's a giant distraction too; hikers aren't destroying nature. If we want to preserve nature, the best way to do it is to get people outside and appreciate it, not make it off limits so that nobody ever sees it. If that happens, we'll just get more freeways and parking lots.

Most hikers aren't but there's always a few who treat it like their personal garbage dump. And when there are many hikers there are many of those ruining it for everyone.

True, but collective and preemptive punishment is unjust. Shitty littering hikers should be punished, not everyone else.
