Sometimes, but definitely not always. Spending more can often just be because something has a brand name or is a luxury. Some people think they need to spend $400 on a Yeti cooler when tests show that a $55 Coleman Extreme is just as good if not slightly better at being a cooler. My friend and I each had the same pair of Oakley sunglasses a while back and both of ours fell apart and the frame separated at the hinge. My $10 polarized sunglasses don't fall apart and work just fine. While Maserati cars are really nice and really expensive, there was always a saying "if you can afford a Maserati, then buy 2 because one will always be in the shop."
