I can use the SSD that I recently put into the macbook in a different machine I have laying around.

Might have issues with drivers, maybe. I'd check if you can get Mac drivers for those first.

Personally, I use old laptops as emulation systems, for role playing, devices for writing or art. Nothing intensive but nothing I want to buy a new laptop for either.

Worst case I'll put it into a usb converter and boot from it.

Also, I use No Root Firewall on my phone. It helps keep the thing locked down.

I use Netguard to stop traffic from anything including system apps (allow/disallow cell/wifi separately, allow roaming data, allow bypass if screen is active, lock down ALL traffic).

The problem is that it's baked into the OS that I have to save my data to a google account if one is signed in. Otherwise I have to sign in and out every time I need to access the play store for an app. I'm a bit absent minded sooo....
