A few years ago, we used to do a paper run around town. Most papers would put into people's letterboxes, others you'd go up to their house and have a short conversation with them.

There was one house which was the absolute worst, but the elderly lady in it was alright. She had an art deco house from the 30's. It was the most untidy, grotty house I've seen.

The front of her house was covered in snails, mould, water leaks. The front door was blocked off so you never could use that part.

That leads me onto the really bad stuff. At the back, the house was absolutely covered in mould and rain damp on the exterior. What made it worse is that we'd stand on a little rickity wooden step, rotting from the guttering on the roof not having a side pipe.

It was slippery, disgusting and something that appeared to be unfit for living in.

I don't know how people can live like that. The issues with that type of neglect would compound into something worse and worse. I wonder if the council will ever pull that house down?

In high school I watched our football teams tight end split his shin bone down the middle and come out on the sides.
