I'm seeing a sidebar pop-out near the Phuks logo that is has Chinese letters in it

I assume that symbol looks similar to the one you see in this picture? It's probably a means of translating the page. Either your browser does it internally or you have a plugin installed for such a thing.

It's malware injected into phuks by via the css from /s/cabbage. Eventually it will make your house smell bad and your teeth rot.
