Seriously, I don't want to rub my hands against the sink every time I wash my hands. I've never seen a bathroom sink without a ridiculous amount of space between the front of the bowl and the faucet. Let's start using another 2 inches or so of that space, huh?

Worse yet is trying to change out the faucets. Everything is so tight back against the wall beneath the sink itself it's a serious pain to get to the plumbing itself.

Agreed. I demo/renovate apartments. Probably the worst part of my day is the kitchen/bathroom faucets.

Not sure what the solution would be other than to build the cabinets more accommodating to maintenance..

In Corpus Christi, TX, some idiot couldn't reach the faucet so they enacted the Fairer Faucet law. It ensures the faucets are fairly close to the wall. "Fairer Faucet - Major Important," was the slogan, if I remember correctly.

(Joke - not at all true - don't believe a word of this post.)

Because idiots being idiots break off the faucets. This gives them less leverage.

There's that or the depth of the sink isn't low enough so you rub your hands against the bottom of the sink bowl instead. It was just like that at my old house.

idk where you are, but in Toronto, they're at the back of the sink bowl, but the 'faucet head' is fairly 'tall' so you dont really have to touch the sink bowl when you're washing your hands.

unless you have massive hands, then I don't see why you'd be touching the back of the sink bowl.

can I just say good job on washing your hands after the bathroom? NOT EVERYBODY DOES THIS.

I'm around Pittsburgh, so everything's a bit backwards anyway. I've seen this issue elsewhere though.

I do have massive hands, for what it's worth. That makes the problem worse.

I have little doll hands. Its never my problem when I touch sinks. they're nasty.
