Most people collect random things, so what's yours?

I collect coins and albums mainly.

That's pretty cool, particular strips or the entire "funny" pages? (not sure what you guys call that page of the newspaper)

Edit: Shit, it just occured to me that you probably mean comic books.

In which case, any titles I would recognize? Superheroes and all that?

Well it differs, Most of the european strips didn't publish in the papers (like the "funnies" in the US) but in their own magazines wich published weekly or monthly. You would follow the adventure 3-6 pages per issue and then they would sell as a seperate album. Comics in papers have been/are mostly political satire over here, so if you want to read comics you buy the magazine or album. I think this comic scene is mainly a France, Belgium and Netherlands cultural phenomenon. For famous examples think Tin Tin, Lucky Luke and ofcourse Asterix and Obelix. Asterix is one of my favorites since i was a little kid. It combined history with good stories and humor

edit: forgot to say that the strips are mostly longer stories as well, like the Tin Tin addventure or Asterix and Obelix going somewhere. So stories of about 40-70 pages on A4 format like this.

Okay I think I get what you're talking about. That's pretty nifty though.

Do you still have your collection stashed In a box somewhere? I imagine some of those would be pretty interesting.

And holy crap. I completely forgot about Tin Tin and that scruffy little dog. And some bearded Norwegian sailor guy.

They did like Scooby Doo style adventures right?

(sort of drunk and remembering stuff from almost 20 years ago.)
