I've noticed that some fairly good posts are downvoted into oblivion on voat without any reason... maybe the user is an "enemy"? I'm sure there're some SBBH types that all brigade together on their least favoured users. What strikes me as odd is there is no justification on -5 -7 posts... so five or seven people downvote and don't even leave a reason? weird and not cool. just attacking a user.

Wouldn't it be nice if people had to at the least justify downvote? It's an opportunity to learn how to better post if you really fucked up as OP... however most things shouldn't be downvoted though if there's effort from OP... amiright? thoughts?

Well, I could give detailed responses to your diversionary nitpicking, but that would be a waste of my time. Look back to your first comment if you have forgotten what the scope of this discussion is:

For example, if you come in spouting racist things, you should expect to downvoted into oblivion. So it's likely that people who are downvoted like crazy are people who have done something to one or more users who don't or won't forget what kind of user they are.

The questions you can't or won't answer are quite relevant to the discussion. Are we excluding racists now? When you say "what kind of user they are" what kind of user are you talking about.

What do you think is the "spirit of this community"?

Who do you want to shut down for being in opposition to that spirit?

And there it is. I was wondering how your commentary was going to devolve. Ad hominems and irrelevancy and a dogged determination your word choice in order to avoid anything direct. Pshaw, you can't even give citations in regards to your "facts" which you made up on the spot so your stance could have "support." Combine that with classic fallacy of equivocation... you weren't here to debate. You were here to argue. I don't argue. I will discuss. I will debate. But I don't do arguments. Leave that kind of nonsense where you found it, you'll find no fertile ground here.

Ah yes, it's me who's avoiding direct answers. This whole time I've been trying to get a straight answer out of you based on your initial comment. My last comment demonstrated that by quoting your first and relating it directly to the central questions you won't answer.

I think you don't do debates either when it becomes clear that your position is untenable.
