Used to repair forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment. Then I got hurt, they said they were going to pay, went on unemployment for almost a year while I sued the shit out of them.
Everytime we were in court they had someone else's file, and their lawyer needed to be reminded who I was. Judge said one day that we were to figure this out in mediation before our next hearing otherwise he would recommend it for trial.
They settled for almost 6 figures.
Now I mill out guns in my basement and lure pembo with awsome bang shit I find online.
Production work. Nothing glorious but it has some decent benefits.
House husband. A little over a year ago we sat down and ran some numbers. My wife was making a lot more than I was. When we looked at all the added taxes and other related costs of my working (gas, vehicle wear and tear, etc) it turned out I was actually only making a couple dollars an hour. So I quit work and now putter around our house out in the country.
Struggle, lol.
I spent the majority of my working life as a cook/chef. I decided to get out completely 6 months ago. I never wanted to be an executive chef and give away 80+ hours a week. So for the betterment of my family I've gone into sales.
I have to say. My current job is lame. I basically work in a call center. Money is better, but not by much. But this job was always meant to just be a foot in the door to something better.
I'm now actively pursuing a license in another sales-related field.
I get to see my wife and son every morning and night. We spend weekends doing fun things, i get time to garden and exercise without being totally drained by my job.
Legacy php/zend server upkeep and helpdesk for companies full of boomers that built stuff 12+ years ago and would rather pay me in 40 hour chunks than upgrade. realted: Wordpress/joomla custom modules and extensions for a while.
I also worked for plant nurseries, golf courses, a few auto shops, UPS, and food prep for catering services over the years.
production operator in chemical plant
it really isn't fun or interesting
Engineer (contractor) for the US Army. I can't tell you what I do. Not because it's super secret, it's because it's so specialized I'm the only contractor doing it in the entire DoD and it would be easy to dox me.
I occupy space, keep a chair warm, and comment on Phuks.
It's been so long since I've done anything else, that I have forgotten what I was hired for.
:)
