Sure, Voat.co is an echo chamber at times. Classless characterizations of essentially anyone non-white is par for the course (no Putt intended), but their meme game is strong even if they're recycling it from xeddit or one of the #Chans. I wasn't really friends with anyone there, but there was an understanding among the oldest accounts, sort of a digital nod to one another on active threads from time to time. Hell, Cancel-Cat-Facts even PMed me the other day, that was pretty cool.
Anyway, I came over here a long time ago with the v/ModernPowers crowd, but I was already becoming something of a lurker on Voat anyway and I couldn't sustain presence on two boards. I'm here now for obvious reasons, and I noticed that there are more rules than I remember, though I could be mis-remembering. Wanted to get some context on them.

Now, wait a minute...a lot of stuff "incites" a multitude of emotions, and the word "strictly" sounds like this rule could censor valuable exchanges of information. Will I get banned for citing genetic studies (educational) and Tyrone comics (sometimes funny), or is this section here to curb use of words like "nigger" (a word I never use)? I noticed "faggot" used already, so this just seems like an unusually strongly worded rule and would like to understand the content allowed under it.

Moderators are not a part of site staff, and may be removed at any time, for any reason. Who are the admins, and have any mods been removed so far?
Moderators may create their own rules as long as they do not violate the terms of this agreement. By becoming a moderator of a default sub, you agree to represent the best interests of the community you moderate. Continuous failure to do so may result in your removal as a moderator. we have a FAQ in the works, let's see if I can answer some of these real quick. Most of our ToS and privacy info is generated so it has extra legal speak we may not need.
1- legal speak to say that Admins own and operate the site. But all actions are logged publicly and there are no shadowbans.
5- yes and no. We have to comply with direct court orders, not just any lawyer or any request. We purposefully only collect an email and no other identifying info in case we have to. We update the canary regularly
no doxing - everywhere. If the person is openly claiming the info, then ok.

the question about the discrimination clause gets brought up by every new user today, I'm sure you'll find lots of debate on the topic in the first three pages of the site. We have to have it for our hosting agreement. If you are truly concerned, no worries, phuks is all open source. For $20-30 a month you can rent your own server, we'll get you setup and give you the admin keys. You can host it and run it with any rules you want.
