Kids, and distance. Moving to a different state didn't help and their vacations are always to visit family. Priorities I guess.

I have a history of heavy drinking and moving around the country quite a bit.

Neither is great for lasting relationships of any kind.

I don't know. Some people you just stop talking to at some point, it's never really been anything Earth-shattering.

Some people you stop talking to. Others are a lose. I think when one loses a close friend it is inherently Earth-shattering, every time.
