I agree. What would be the point. By the time we're capable of interstellar travel, it would make far more sense to send AI/Robotic type explorers. Hell, it won't be long until people no longer fly planes or drive cars. Of course, this assumes people are still here anyway, and haven't morphed into borgs.
If given enough time without killing ourselves. I see no reason why we won't colonize the solar system.
Interstellar travel pivots mainly on fusion energy. It's still possible without, just much more difficult.
I hope well survive long enough to create a Dyson sphere.
