I have been curious about this for awhile. What's the motivation behind posting porn to sites like phuks, voat and Reddit? Is there sexual gratification to it? Does the poster get aroused from knowing people might be masterbating to their post? Is it to bookmark your favorite porn? With so much porn available for free across the internet why share it?

Reddit was like 70% porn at one point early on. Some people just like to share pics, like they share pics of their dog. It's just a "hey this is hot" and within a few mins, they forget about it. Others are promoting their favorite, like rooting for a sports team. Or they're getting paid to promote the page/service they use.

Okay, I get the paid to promote. That makes sense for some of the porn.

Do people who post porn not get embarrassed that their sexual preferences are out in the open.

I got to thinking about this because awhile back I was looking for an user on voat who hadn't posted in awhile. I usually never look into a users comment history but I wanted to known when the last time this user was active. One of the last comments the user left was on a porn link. Now whenever I think of this user I think of that comment and the users preference for doggy style. I feel kinda embarrassed...I'm not prude or anything it's just I never thought of this user sexual preferences before.

the the second last post "cute puppy playing with children" and the last one "Black shemale fucks college girl"?

[–] simone [OP] 2 points (+2|-0)

Nope, different user but sounds like an average voater. lol.

Very good question, with no real answer, I think. I've been around long enough to remember the days when a poor young boy had to work to see even a brief glimpse of anything porn ... now ir's everywhere. I don't think it's made for a better world. In fact there's much to be said for the 'mystery'.

[–] simone [OP] 2 points (+2|-0)

It seems it's a younger posters thing to post porn. The ones who didn't live through the 'mystery' days.

And they end up with very unreal ... unobtainable fantasies of what life, sex, expectations, whatever are all about. Like I said, I'm not sure it has enhanced society in any way, and though it's impossible to put the genie back in the bottle, it's not a good thing. To me it just jades those who can't look away from any of this crap and need to spread it around. It's likely why many will always be lonely basement dwellers, never grasping that the world isn't what they see in glossy pictures ... and never will be.

Completely agree. To have access to such extreme examples of sex at such a young age must have huge impacts on later adult years. This goes for both males and females. It's a very different world we live in and it's only been about 15 years with this kind of porn access.

I post porn if the porn is good. To me it's just the same as posting music or an article, if I see any content I like, I might end up posting it.

May I ask some follow up questions?

Are you young? Have you always had access to internet porn in your life? I'm curious if people who grew up with internet porn are more likely to share then those who where around when porn was taboo.

Do you ever think about who might be viewing the porn you post and does that add to the enjoyment of sharing it?

[–] PMYA 6 points (+6|-0)

I'm in my early twenties and have always had access to porn. And no, I don't think about people watching the porn, unless it's of myself ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

For me, it's probably worth noting I've not posted anything to either Reddit or Voat.

It's pretty straight-forward; it's not fundamentally different than sharing links to any other interest. It's something you like and are into, and wouldn't it be nice to talk about it with someone?

I got back in touch with an old friend today, and spent some time at his house. He's had the good fortune to be able to meet some hentai artists and people in the field. Taking some time to chat about the artists we like and makes them neat, is not that different than anything else.

I don't get any sense of arousal or gratification, outside of just someone else genuinely liking what I had to post (which is the same no matter the content I post).

i do not get it either.?

[–] simone [OP] 1 points (+1|-0)

Commenting on porn links also is puzzling to me.

[–] lordbeatlejuice 1 points (+1|-0)

i wonder if porn posters meet in real.life if they sit around and masturbate together...i also wonder if they pass around porn vids like normal people pass around women!!!

What's the motivation behind posting porn to sites like phuks, voat and Reddit?

I guess it's like posting anything else. Providing some content you think is good content. I don't see much difference. And there is not much porn here anyway.

Is it to bookmark your favorite porn?

I don't think so, I prefer to watch porn once. There's enough of it on the internet you don't have to think about watching something twice.

With so much porn available for free across the internet why share it?

Why not? there's also much news available and much scientific articles. But websites like Phuks only work by sharing links. Might be porn, might be news, it just has to be good quality.

[–] simone [OP] 1 points (+1|-0)

Good points.

I share links in hope that others might comment and we can discuss our shared interests. Porn to me never seemed like a sharing thing to me. But I remember the days of having to hide dirty magazines and porn being a very secret thing.

Use an Archer voice while reading this please:

I've come across good porn, finished my business and cleaned up while feeling ashamed for the actress for a second and continuing on with my day like most people. I don't understand why you'd want to share that unless it's a weird fetish... in which case it's an internet person fetish and I don't think that helps anyone other than people who really, really can't get laid... I mean impossible chance... and I don't think those people should flog the internet as much as they have but welcome to 2017... soon to be 2018.. Tequila shot?

[–] simone [OP] 1 points (+1|-0)

"cleaned up while feeling ashamed for the actress for a second" best to exit out of the viewing window immediately after finishing to minimize guilt.

Tequila New Years Shots!

I have wondered about this.
Same questions, no real answers.

As a thought exorcise I thought about non-sexual things people like to watch, and if they share them. Cars, sports, movies, etc.
So sharing things we like to watch with strangers isn't odd.. unless it's porn?
But if I extend that thinking, If we thought about sex in a comparable way to cars.. well, people like to show off the car. Might even let his friend take it for a drive.
Probably wouldn't do that with a wife.

So, in then end, I've got nothing. I might know less now than when I started thinking about it.

I'm very curious about users who don't use an alt to post porn. Of course this was mostly on voat, phuks doesn't seem to have porn. I'd get really thrown off by users that posted science articles and then five minutes later it's a NSFW gif.

I know the majority of people look at porn and I'm not against porn, I just never understood sharing porn with friends. I really have no desire to know what turns my friends on or for them to know what gets me off.

What's the motivation for a drunk to drink pr a junky to pop pills? How they got there is irrelevant, they are addicted. You want to be comfortable and that means exposing and hopefully getting others on board with your vice.

[–] simone [OP] 1 points (+1|-0) Edited

So you're saying those that post porn are addicted to porn?

[–] [Deleted] 0 points (+0|-0)

I see you edited so it changed context. Yes I am. Its normal in their mind.
